VIRTUAL leadership summit

The LEADERSHIP SUMMIT is  Sponsored by NATIONAL MATH STARS

National Math Stars ensures mathematically extraordinary students from all communities have the resources they need to reach the frontiers of math and science. We run a free, fully-funded support program for extraordinarily talented math students. We recruit students in 2nd and 3rd grades and support them through high school, providing free math mentoring, access to STEM summer camps, family advising, community events, and more. In total our program offers more than $100,000 in resources to each student accepted, over the course of a decade.

A Promise to All:  Think Again

Despite claims to the contrary, programs for advanced students workespecially for marginalized students. And no other intervention, including full inclusion, can work at scale for the full range of student readiness levels that are typically present in American classrooms.

Brandon Wright is the Editorial Director of the Thomas B. Fordham Institute. He is the coauthor or coeditor of three books: Failing our Brightest Kids: The Global Challenge of Educating High-Ability Students; Charter Schools at the Crossroads: Predicaments, Paradoxes, Possibilities;  Getting the Most Bang for the Education Buck. He is also the editor of the Advance Substack, and his writing has appeared widely in newspapers across the country. He holds a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and a B.A. from the University of Michigan.
