Getting to Know Advanced Learners: Attributes and Needs
This session is the first of a series of virtual "PD on the Patio" series focusing on important topics related to meeting the needs of advanced learners.
Who are the advanced learners in your classroom? Gifted and talented learners are found in all racial, ethnic, income levels, and exceptionality groups. This session provides an introduction to common characteristics of advanced learners and considerations for application to targeted curriculum and instruction.
The session is facilitated by Jeanine Buishas, IAGC President and educational consultant. She is currently the Coordinator of Gifted Services for the DuPage Regional Office of Education, and has over 30 years of experience in gifted education.
Participants who attend sessions and complete the required sign in, sign out, and evaluation sheets are eligible to receive 1 PD Hour Credit.
Participants may register for one or more of this 6-session series. While spaces last in all sessions, a special "bundle rate" is available for those who register for all 6 sessions. For information about the "bundle" rate, email director@iagcgifted.org.
