IAGC Scholarship Listing and Application Information

IAGC provides a variety of scholarship and recognition opportunities for parents, educators, students or community members. All award winners are recognized at the annual IAGC Conference.

Applications are open from May 9, 2022 through September 1, 2022. 

Student Scholarship:

The Carol Morreale Scholarship (Grades K-8)

This $1,000 award was established in memory of Carol Morreale, an educator, early IAGC member and tireless advocate for gifted children. Funded through memorial donations, this scholarship is given to a student in grade 1 through 8 who has demonstrated excellence in language arts or math. Financial need is a consideration.

Application Deadline: September 1, 2022

To Apply for the Carol Morreale ScholarshipPlease email the following application materials to scholarships@iagcgifted.org.

  • A statement (250 word maximum) describing (1) your motivation for seeking this scholarship; and (2) qualities make you an advanced, serious and engaged scholar. Please also indicate your financial need.
  • Three examples of your student work
  • Two teacher recommendation letters. 
    • These teachers must have taught you in academic classes. 
    • Please ask your teachers to email their letters to IAGC directly to this email address: scholarships@iagcgifted.org. 
    • Teachers should comment on your advanced academic performance, scholarship, and engagement in learning.
Conference Scholarships for Educators and Community Members:

A limited number of scholarships are available for people with financial need to attend the conference through the Ruth Wright Professional Development and the Mary Ann Paradise Scholarships. If you are an educator, parent or advocate and would like to make use of one of these scholarships, please send an email consisting of a 250-word statement describing your motivation and need to scholarships@iagcgifted.org

Mary Ann Paradise IAGC Conference Scholarship

This award, named in honor of Mary Ann Paradise long time conference co-chair and IAGC founding member, was established in 1996 to provide financial support for those who wish to enhance their understanding of gifted education. One scholarship is awarded each year to parents, educators or other school staff members who work with gifted children. The award provides a complimentary one-day registration to the IAGC Conference.

Ruth Wright Professional Development Scholarship

This award was established in 1996 to provide financial support to members of IAGC who currently work in the area of gifted education. Named for early founder and first IAGC president, Ruth Wright, the award provides a complimentary one-day registration to the IAGC Conference.

Application Deadline: September 1, 2022

The following Scholarships are not being offered in 2022. These special honors will be available in 2023, when we look forward to honoring recipients in person at our 28th Annual Conference!
      • Promising Projects Equity Award
      • Bonnie Park Leadership Legacy Award
      • Sally Walker Distinguished Service Award
