What is the Ruth Wright Professional Development
Scholarship?
This scholarship was established in 1996 by the IAGC to provide
financial support for educators who wish to enhance their understanding
in the area of educating gifted children. The scholarship is named in
honor of Ruth Wright, a founding member and first president of IAGC.
One scholarship is awarded each year. The scholarship will consist of a $200 tuition voucher good for use toward the IAGC Annual Convention.
Who is eligible for this scholarship?
All IAGC members who work in the area of gifted education may apply for
the Ruth Wright Professional Development Scholarship.
How do I apply?
The application process consists of completing and submitting the application form. The completed form should
be returned by October1.

The Ruth Wright Professional Development Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of:
- a demonstrated commitment to educating gifted children and,
- the potential benefit to the gifted community.
The recipient will be notified by November 1, with the formal announcement and recognition to be at the Annual IAGC Convention.
For what activities can the scholarship be used?
The $200 tuition voucher may be used toward the cost of registration at
the Annual IAGC Convention and other expenses incurred in
attending the convention.
