APPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCEDURES
What is the Promising Projects Award?
This award was established in 2002 by the Illinois Association for
Gifted Children to show monetary support for projects created by
teachers of gifted children. These projects must be specifically
designed and differentiated to meet the needs of gifted students. The
money could be used to purchase or pay for related field trip expenses.
One or more awards will be given each year, not to exceed a total
dollar amount of $500.
Who is eligible for this award?
All IAGC members who work in the area of gifted education may apply for
the Promising Projects Award.
How do I apply?
The application process consists of completing and submitting the application form. The completed form should be
postmarked by November 1, and sent to:

How is the selection made and when will I be notified?
The award will be made on the basis of demonstrated
benefit to gifted students. The IAGC Recognition Committee will review
all applications and present their selection to the IAGC Board of
Directors for final approval.
The recipient will be notified by December 1, and will
be recognized at the IAGC Annual Convention.
Further details will be reviewed with the recipient on an
individual basis.
