GIFTED EDUCATION SEMINAR 2012
The Illinois State Board of Education invites classroom teachers to deepen their understanding of how to teach and reach gifted and talented students. The goal of the training, "Educators will be able to create an environment to identify gifted and talented learners, address their diverse needs, and measure student growth in the classroom," will be accomplished through the exploration of topics including perspectives of gifted, knowing the gifted, curriculum models and differentiation.

Attendance ALL days is required plus an additional 30 hours of independent work with flash drive.

- 45 CPDUs or University of Aurora Credit – 3 hours of Graduate Credit
(educator responsible to pay for university credit first day of class)

Educators must bring to Training
This training involves the use of a flash drive, so attendees must bring a laptop with plug in for flash drive.

About the Presenter
Pamela DePinto has taught students in grades 2-12 and served as a Gifted Coordinator in a K-12 district. Pam also served as the Lake County Curriculum Coordinator where she provided numerous workshops and institute training for teachers throughout Illinois. Pam is the Past President of the Illinois Association for Gifted Children and received the IAGC Distinguished Service Award in 2005. In Lake Forest District 67, Pam has served as Director of Instruction. She has also worked as a national education consultant for twenty years and currently serves as an Adjunct Professor for Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
