WHAT WILL BE COVERED?
This class will invite participants on a journey through the thinking involved in deeper comprehension. Strategies will be demonstrated to assist teachers in helping students become thoughtful, independent readers who can not only negotiate their way through text, but can also probe the depths of its content and themes. We will also explore the importance of modeling, “think-alouds,” and classroom environment. A special emphasis will include an analysis of the intellectual virtues supported by the Center for Critical Thinking.
